Letterpress Image Transfer

Image transfers are one of my favorite ways to add letterpress-style typography to collage work—especially when you don't have access to a traditional press or wooden type. This technique lets you capture the beautiful, tactile quality of letterpress printing and incorporate it into your mixed-media pieces with just a laser copy. It's quick, accessible, and opens up endless possibilities for layering text and imagery in your abstract compositions.

If you're excited about this technique, imagine learning a dozen more ways to bring typography into your art! In my online course Impressed: Printmaking and Collage, I teach you everything from my innovative "pan press" method for printing with wooden type to working with stencils, gelli plates, and found vintage papers. You'll discover how to source materials, create your own printed papers, and combine multiple techniques into sophisticated abstract collages—all without expensive equipment or a traditional letterpress studio.

The class includes a 20-page PDF of letterpress prints, but if you want more prints, you can purchase Volume II here (it includes additional prints not included in the class).
